EH..that moment when you just want to look back…

It has been a while since I read a book. Most of my books here are about love stories that we all know are fiction and so they’re not real. (duh) I’ve grown tired of these things and I want to try to read books that actually have meaning and are relevant to my situation/status today. Right now, I’m going through a phase of trying to find my identity. I know it’s cliche but I think, in a teenager’s life one should really go through it to find out his/herself. I’ve read a lot of books but most of them are shallow and well, immature.

When I had Humanities for a subject I thought at first that it was boring and/or maybe I was not comfortable of how our professor taught us(me). He had this different way of teaching, I mean, he did not even have a lesson plan which I think was very lazy of him. Anyway, although our professor was not cut out for teaching, I noticed this interest in me of the subject-we all know that Humanities is the study of man and I was questioning my existence-and that gave me the urge to take it seriously.

This sem we have Humanities 2 and our professor (different one, who I must say is better than the first one) is more focused on how man has both the body and the soul…how man is both limited and limitless…and how faith and reason cannot be separated. These topics opened my eyes (and my brain to actually read the articles that she wants us to) on how I’ve been so stupid and ignorant of the things that I should actually care/have the knowledge about. I’ve been busy dwelling on things that should be left out, things that took a lot of my time.

At least now I know.

A friend and I went to Fully Booked this afternoon and I asked her (since she’s a bookworm) books that would help me find my inner self. She told me about Sophie’s World which was also introduced by our first professor in Humanities for us to read but laziness got the best of me. I’ve read several pages but did not finish the entire thing. It was in PDF for Christ’s sake and I was and still am not willing to read a whole book through the monitor. Thank God there is an actual book. Sorry trees :)

So now, I am going to read it. Page by page and see if the book can truly help me.

I just need the money for it. hahaha!
