The Vow
Hi, I’m lazy to read my homework, so I thought why not do a movie review?
This Valentine’s Day my friends and I watched the Vow in Glorietta Makati. I don’t know if there are any other gloriettas out there but just so I can be specific. Anyway, I’m going straight to the point here.
I thought at first that “The Vow” would be just a typical love story just like those of Korean Novelas or that Amnesia Girl with John Lloyd Cruz and Tony Gonzaga. Actually, yes, it is a typical love story. Although there are some parts that I think are somehow extraordinary(due to lack of term). Most of the chick flicks I’ve watched are if not PG13 cheesy, they were PG18 cheesy (if you know what I mean). It’s either too much sex or no sex(not that I’m looking forward to it. hahaha!) The Vow somehow is in the middle of PG13 and PG18 movies..so I guess its PG16?? HAHA! I’m not even sure if such thing exists, I think it does. Anyway, what caught my attention in the movie are those scenes in which the couple is fighting but at the end they still accepted each other despite their weaknesses. I guess, in chick flicks they fight about the most cliche if not shallow problems and in this movie the main characters are faced with a conflict that is so complex that only maybe one couple in a million experienced such. I guess, the movie is also more realistic compared to others because in other films, sometimes they use Deus ex Machina (Letting the Gods do the work) or situations that are just impossible to happen in real life. I don’t want to mention details because those of you who haven’t watched the film might kill me for spoiling it. hahaha!
Overall on the scale of 1-10 I’ll give The Vow a 6 :)
I’m looking forward in watching “The girl with the dragon tattoo”
I’ve watched the Russian Version so I want to see if they changed some parts in the American version.
So there :) Hope I’ve amused you in a way. Goodnight!
